Thanks for the info on quest and traxter.

Is this site a bombardier site or a DS 650 site? no just kiddinng. I just wanted to thank the people that gave me info on the quest and traxter. I liked the post about belt vs. manual shifter. I really don't know if the belts are reliable or not but I like the idea of an automatic. One question though. How rough do these machines ride? Is the suspensions crude or not too bad. I will be doing mostly trail riding so I need a bike that will be comfy all day long.

I am pretty sure if you are going to be doing lots of trail riding you will want the quest (softer suspension).
Then from there you have to decide what one to get.
There are four quests to choose from, Quest 650, Quest 650 XT, Quest 500 4x4, or Quest 500 2x4...
The Traxter is made for work... and towing...

And belts are pretty reliable, obviously they have to go sometime, but even if they do on the bomb, they will give you a free one under warranty for the first 3 years (or how ever long you warranty is)
Belts typically get warn out fast if you are doing lots of towing, if you just trail ride and pull lighter things it will take a while for the belt to go.

Immature,
For all day trail riding, you will want to look at the Quest. That is exactly the application that the Quest was designed for and I think you will appreciate the softer suspension on the Quest (vs. Traxter).
The CVT tranny on the Quest is excellent and belts are very reliable. Belt driven automatics are available from EVERY manufacturer (except Honda) and the technology has proven to be very reliable. Yes, you will need to replace the belt from time to time (how long depends on your use), but for a typical recreational trail rider the belt will last years...
Cheers,
