We were riding all weekend down in some empty coal mines down in Kentucky. By afternoon Sunday we were getting a little crazy and jumping higher and higher off a nearly vertical 10 ft wall that encircled one coal mine. I hit it real hard and the rear tires didn't come off the lip straight which made me come down on the right front tire only. I jumped off in time to avoid injury but the front tire came off the outer bead. We didn't have any eather so one of the guys we were riding with found a grease can in one of the abandoned coal stripping machines left behind. We tilted the Bomb on its side and filled in the gap with grease. With a tiny little hand pump the tire popped right on the bead and away we went. It would've been a long ride home on a flat front tire, thank god McGyver was with us.

Here's a trick.... If you have to reset a bead and have no pump a flamable liquid can be used. Spray some inside the tire and toss a match at it. The liquid explodes/expands and pops the tire on the bead. It can be a little dangerous but it works. Ether, lighter fluid and probably gasoline should work.

If you have a tie down and run it around the outside center of the tire and tighten it so it squishes the center down and the bead out. A can of fix-a-flat will seat it. Make sure to clean the tire and wheel areas. A little bit of grease or someother lubricant helps a lot. In my experience it is a lot easier to do this on aftermarket wheels vs stock.

Cool story Rockey. I take it that you and Wyo both are aware of the ether trick? That's a new on me, I never would've thought of torching my tire to seat it!! Got any hotdogs?!

I didn't know about the ether until this past weekend, the guys I was riding with told me about it. I like Easter eggs trick with the strap, it distributes even pressure around the bead. Nice trick.

I ordered the Lectron carb. Or, I should say I emailed them and am waiting for them to respond so we can get the ball rolling. I am anxious to see the improvements. I am going to have to go the the 1/8 mile track to see what kind of improvements I get out of it. Witht the 15T sprocket I could only get a GPS verified 72.6 mph out of the DS this past weekend. I did however put the hurtin on a Trinity built Quadracer 250.

That fire trick works great. They had a show about 4x4 trucks on TLC and some guys that go across snow/ice did that.

I also could not get one of my tires to seat so i did it (fun as hell!!!)

I don't think I would try gas. Starter fluid works great. Be REAL careful though.
