I just arrived home last nite from Winchester Bay. Had a blast hill climbing, jumping, swillin'. But problems must arise when you leave home for long periods of time. ( gone for a week).Day three of ridin' first gear was slipping out, so bad that it was 2nd gear for the rest of the weekend. not that I needed 1st. But 2nd is starting to act up now. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! Well since I have to split the case I guess i have to complete the internal mods. heh heh heh.....
That tm 45 carb that I bought from Woods needs a accelerator pump. Just wonder why they don't send it when you buy from them. My bottem end sucks. so what do you guys recomend, 12 to 1 or 11.5 piston?
thank ya RD

You can make that carb work well, even on a 650, without the pump. You just have to change about everything in it from the way it comes from RWR. You still will not be able to stab full throttle from idle without a stumble, but for any practicle riding, it will do fine. To stab full throttle without the pump, you'll have to be a couple hundred RPM[150-200] above idle.
11.2:1 compresion is what Team Pami recomends for pump gas. For 12:1 you'll need at least 95 octane. More compresion can make more power, but at the cost of fuel. The choice is yours, would you prefer to save money and buy pump gas, at the expence of 1-2% of the power increase; or would you prefer to spend the extra money on the high grade fuel and get a tiny bit more power. Both are good choices, but it's up to the person footing the bill.

Knutz, I am courious on your adjustments on the TM45. I have the RWR stage 1 kit and I am happy with the performance. When you say "You just have to change about everything in it from the way it comes". Can you give any more info. I know this is your bread and butter, but I have spent alot of time and $$$ trying to perfect my carb function and I would like to know if I am on the right track. Throttle pump is usless in my opinion.
By the way, the clutch spring I got from you are awsome. Much better than any others I have tried.
