Just thought I would let people know the DS has no fuel filter (nor the EX). I had problems with mine starving for fuel, found out there was dirt in the float bowl. When I get my Wood Rotax carb I will install and inline fuel filter. Does anyone know the size of the fuel line. It is bigger than a standard line.

I had my carb out rejetting yesterday and am only guessing at the size of the fuel line at 3/8 inside diameter. Before you buy a filter it is easy to measure this line, move the clamp back and remove the line from the carb or the petcock (make sure the petcock is in the off position) and measure the I.D. of the hose. Any parts house should have a filter for cheap.

Standard 8mm (5/16") The fuel line is actually labeled with the inside diameter. Everyone has filters. What ever you get will work with both the stock carb and the TM45 carb. While you are at it, I recommend buying better clamps for the hose. The end of the hose that connects to the fuel valve can be easily pulled off, even with the clamp on! The fuel line that ron wood gives you has a narrower outside diameter that doesn't work with the stock clamps. Be sure to get some plastic locking tie straps, they come in handy to hold throttle cables, hoses, wires, etc in place away from harm.
