Shark Fin / Mohawk

On my Baja I run Sand Shark V paddle rears and stock fronts. I just got a pair of 20" 9 paddle haulers for the rear to replace the sand sharks. From what I understand, the haulers will just want to go straight and fight in the turns. Will a sand front tire help the turning issues? I would like to go with the Mohawks to match my haulers but they are priced really high. Is there much difference in performance from the shark fin compared to the Mohawk? They are both bald tires with a single row of knobbies down the center. Would I be better off going with a solid rib front tire? I heard the solid ribs will cause more steering shake in the choppy sand. Also do I need to specify what offset I want for the front rims? I know there were some difference in wheel offset for the standard DS and Baja? Any opinions would be great!

I agree with mark, probably no difference between the fins and mohawks, but I've not tried the fins to know from experience.
I do know that either will provide plenty of turning ability, I haven't had any turn issues running ohtsu knobbies with my ten paddle haulers, you just blip the throttle to get her sliding in sharp turns, then hammer down. Tight donuts will be a thing of the past with the haulers, and no kind of front tire can help that, so hang on to your sharks for a while so if you end up missing the fun you can always switch once in a while for a different kind of fun.

The Mohawks are worth the extra money for looks alone ,but they are alittle taller which helps the handling of the DS. I had Shark Fins on my banshee and they followed the ruts in the sand alot worse than my Mohawks. my.02
know I have smooth buffs and haulers, and like hightower said, the days of quick turning are gone.

For the people that run the razorbacks, or similar, and say there is too much steering did you ever try to run them on the wrong side? I noticed that the shape of the ridge is angled on one side and straight up on the other. It seems like if you ran them backwards, with the angle to the outside, it wouldn't be so "grabby".
