Front Sand Tires???
#1
Are they really necessary?? I see about an equal number of guys riding with and without them. Which ones seem to work the best for play riding...the smooth tires or the ones with the ridge down the middle?? Is there a big difference between a skat trak mohawk, and a gbc shark fin???

I constantly peel my Skat-Trak Mohawks off the rims even at higher pressures. They are made from cheap Nankang tires and the beads are really weak. I can break the beads by standing on the tire and then peel the tire off the rim by hand. I blew both of them off the rims landing from a jump once. It was probably the highest I have ever gotten though.
The GBC ones are a lot heavier tire, but will probably stay on the rims because of that. I bought the GBCs for my Drakart being that it is a lot faster and I can put a lot more load on the tires when cornering.
I plan on super gluing the Mohawks to the rims this year for the FL350.

The real Razor Backs from Sand Tires Unlimited are the way to go. The use quailty rubber and are wider than others which float better. If youare going to get a set buy the real ones!
Having them is almost like having power steering, they make a world of difference!

I also use the dune trackers. They are inexpensive, float well, and I have had no problems whatsoever with them. They make a HUGE improvement over stock tires with their ability to turn too!
