Lightweight:

You can run pump gas with the 11.2:1 Pami or the 11.5:1 Wood Pistons.

Interesting that they say the cams, piston, porting will get as much as the bore.

I will be starting this work after the Oct 11-13 trip to Sand Mt.

<< mine is a ct 105mm liner. i dont think it is detonation. i only run c12 fuel. it always blows on the head side of the gasket. the cylinder side has the o-ring. the last time i changed it, i had a reciever groove cut in the head, a .020 thick copper o-ring, and a .020 spring steel gasket. this was the first time i didnt use a copper gasket. we finished it the night before labor day. took it to la. dunes labor day and it lasted 1 hour. i did find 1 shop who garentees they can make it seal, they say the machine the cylinder and head to use a steel sleeve, i think ? or something like that. but they charge 300.00 to do it. im not sure i wanna take a chance with the pain of pulling the motor out again ( without scratching my frame ) and spending 300.00 and hoping it seals. its not the money, id spend 5,6,700.00 whatever if i was SURE it would seal. >>

Does it blow in the same spot everytime? If so, Id double check the flatness of the head. I'm sure you've laid a straight edge on it and checked with feeler gauges. Did everything check out ok? Can you take some pics of the gasket after it is blown?

i dont know if it leaks in the same spot everytime? its hard to see where its leaking. i brought the head and cylinder to a machine shop and they checked it to see if it was straight. it was a few thousands off. they machined it straight. they said they dont see any reason why it shouldnt seal. i havent pulled the motor out yet since it blew labor day to see where it blew this time.

badass bomb that would be great, i,ve heard that the head bolts are a problem on the lt 500. so maybe that could be your problem. stretching was the problem. and that was what gary was telling me the problem with the ds. so maybe you could figure this out for the rest of us and then we could have 105 bore that run every weekend.
good luck.
