new pipe or MOD the stock.

thier is NO reason to go to a slip on other than wieght and maybe looks. But as far as power, their is no difference. I could see a binefit in going to a FULL performane pipe for a DS with high compression and ported head, but for anything less than that, the stock "modified" pipe is all you need.

ok you guys are talking about moding the stock pipe. What all are you doing to it?? modified end cap and drilling out the inside?? and if i was to do this would i need a jet kit as well or could i just adjust my stock set up and make it work?? for me money is an issue so the cheaper the better.

yes, allyou need to do(or have done) is take your endcap and put a 3" hole inplace of the exsisting 2 small spouts and spark arrester. Then you can go to any Harley shop or ATV shop and get a Mukini jet(probably 170,180)they will cost about 2 0r 3 bucks each, then invest n a K&N filter. with all these mods you will notice a HUGE difference in Torque, and ALOT broader powerband! GOOG LUCK!

Just take your lid off and you'll be fine.Oh! and you will prabably need to adjust your air/fuel mixture screw once jetted and and piped. Go to buttfunguses website and compare your carburator settings with paople that are in and around your Elevation and "MOD" group.
