Default Edelbrock QS may live again

Edelbrock is thinking about coming out with the QwikSilver carb for the DS again. All the R&D work is done all that is needed is demand. I have talk to some local desert racer to get them to try it. But it is a hard sell if it works due not change it. But with the tall gearing I know hey could use more midrange punch and quicker throttle response. I love this carb it is easy to start easy to adjust. Pull's from the start all the way to the rev limiter. When Edelbrock first started to us my DS for R&D it had an Alba pipe and K&N air which gave me 2 more HP on top and about more10 in mid range. After Edelbrock was done I had 2 more top and about 5 more in the midrange with there pumper series 40mm carb. I them went out and added a Ron Wood CDI, HD valves springs, Team PAMI 11:2 to 1 piston and HD clutch springs, Graydon Pipe, 22 inch XCT Holeshots and 15/41 sprockets. At this time I was have a hard time to get my DS to ideal under 1900 RPM so I had them bore it out to 42mm problem solved. This was all a big mistake for testing and documenting changes, too many changes at one time. All Edelbrock was able to prove was I was pulling longer and getting there faster. All my 0 too what ever MPH was 1 sec faster and pulled about 25 mph longer. Now I have added Sam Coe cams and HD valve spring with under bucket shims and head work with oversized valves. http://www.edelbrock.com/motorcycle/index.html

Edelbrocks quality is second to none. I had their intake on My Mustang when I used to drag race it. Although I like my Lectron, I would be tempted to buy an Edelbrock carb if they made a carb bigger than 40mm. Bill were those hp figures, dyno numbers? Does the Edelbrock have a butterfly in it?

The carb sizes are 40mm and 42mm. The 40 flows about 20 % more air than the stock carb on the DS. Yes they due make dual carbs. My head is still been work on. With the desert riding and racing season just starting up Sam is a very busy man.

I would be interested in trying one out, if they make it.
