Default Rectifier out????

Yes to what JsDs said plus if you are a tad braver then the rest a rectifier off a onan cckb or a kohler 18 hp will work just fine on the ds and is way better quality and handles amperage way better !!!! the newer kohler units are compact and have a massive cooling compacity.i use these units on all my bikes

Default Rectifier out????

Thanks AZ, Now all I have to do is find a kohler 18 hp.

BTW AZ- Its almost Seligman season, We are going to build a solar designed house up there w/ S.I.P. or straw bail insulation. Do you have any connects for ceptic tanks, or well digging rigs? Or do you know of a good general contractor in the area? Thanks

Default Rectifier out????

HOLY CRAP....... I think you guy's have solved the problem I've been having since frigg'n OCTOBER... I've been beating my head against the wall for months... I was at the point where I thought I was experiencing slide flutter..I even ordered a new carb spring..
Ok...since I don't have any light's on my bike, I tapped the starter while my bike was sputtering and popping. It would clear up, then start running like crap again. I'm thinking that the starter is drawing enoughg voltage for a few seconds for the bike to run right....does this sound logical???
I had the bike checked out, and was told everything was fine with the electrical system...though the guy who checked it was kind of a tool.
What is an Onan cckb, or a Kohler 18hp? I'd like to pick up a new rectifier ASAP, and if these are a better quality unit, then that's what I want. My dealer would have to order it to the tune of $120.00.

I remember reading that scooby thought that the BMW rectifier was the best that he has tried.

Default Rectifier out????

This is a trip!!! I just got back from Dumont today, Thinking and wondering WHAT THE HECK could be my problem(same symptoms yall had). So I ran the lights, fan and nos (fuel pump) all at the same time, It was still sputtering when I first got to the dunes, I looked down and saw my carb DUMPING fuel out of the vent lines from my lectron, Obviously my floats ot something was sticking and causing all the probs. I said what the hell, I got it to run good for a minute and I held her WIDE open over some whoops and knocked the living heck out of whatever was hanging up in the carb. WALA, The bike ran better than EVER all weekend. I would rule out ALL other possibilitys before jumping the gun. My lectron was starving for fuel, then it was overfueling, causing funky stuff to go on...
