lowering the ds?
#1
i was at little sahara oct-26 and talked to a guy on a lowered 760 pami rocket that said he had his stock shocks shortened up to lower his machine. i talked to my dealer and he said that there not take apart shocks and there is no way to do this? i saw the stock shocks on this guys machine and they were about 2-3" lowered? front and rear.(yes the rear shock comes apart what about the fronts?)

More than likely he just shortened the springs. You can remove them from the front and the rear, cut to desired length then reinstall. I have done this on my wife`s DS. Just don`t take off too much at once. Oh, and on the rear, I found that by removing the smaller red coil did the trick for me. Just depends on how low your looking to go.

I used and old pair of shocks from my 250r,i thinks their 16''.not really sure.the ds was slammed to the ground.i had to adjust the shock so that the grease fitting wont hit.the come very close. you cant use them to ride, but i use them at the drag strip.now it stays down alot better and will lite up the tires!the only thing is the shocks for the r are narrower at the connection and i used some rubber bushings on each side th make up the difference.i still want twin carbs, but i can't make up my mind.i haven't ran it at the strip with the trinity pipe yet,the time slips will tell the story on it compared to the ron w. pipe.
