Personally I changed the whole bars. I put 4" risers with "dog bones" on my DS and they feel,and look great!!!

Some say to stick a air nossle in one end, and the air pressure will seperate the grip from the bar.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Take out the plug in the end of the grip and remove the screw then they should slide right off...them tricky canooks [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I'm not that familiar with the DS, but can't you just cut the old ones off if you don't want to save them?

There is some kind of plastic under them! Do I need this plastic? Grinder time!

 

The way DSjockey said is the correct way. If you grind ort cut them off then you will be stuck with bars that are not kind to regular ATV grips.

 

Did you try an air compresser......pressurize the bars,stick an air hose in one end..and your finger over the other end.........

You are doing all that work making your bike look good and you are planning to use the ugly stock bars? Grab some tag bars and a handle bar riser from alba.
