AZSand,

How much work did you do to the MBRP pipe from stock? If it is really that quiet and has good power it sounds like the one to go with. Didn't you also say it was stainless steel? That pipe is sounding like a much better deal than the Trinity or any others for that matter.

Yes it is stainless and it went on with ease and yes most people say it almost sounds stock with a nice low rumble
ive alway's had graydon' big guns' ron woods so this pipe is almost silent to me. the bottom spring seems to get a bit close to the frame but not enough to worry about.and what wierd is the opening is way bigger than most???2.5 inches maybe

my understanding is that JE will do custom orders with a min # of 4 pistons. If 4 guys get together and split the cost of 103mm custom pistons , I believe the cost would be less than $200 / piston. I have a good source on nikasiling and there are at least 2 aftermarket gasket makers that have the DS 103mm head gasket.

I'm out of the picture on this deal and have the parts for my mods coming soon.
get some guys together and do it.

Hurycne:

Check your PM. I have a buddy that may be looking at a kit after the first of the year.

I think the 680 would be a better way to go. (Thicker cylinder walls.)

It will be interesting to see how Major runs at 4SW's.

Next question is 678 or 692? You think that there could be issues with a 1/2mm more bore.

Maybe 720? How hard is the crank to remove?

the crank wasn't too bad to get out- there are a coupla specialized parts you'll need, I was able to use the tools a local shop had and so it didn't cost me a dime. The most important specialized tool I needed was the flwheel puller, everything else you can carefully but creatively work around.
Also the cylinder walls are still over .250" thick, (103mm bore)they are not a concern to me at all.
