Here is how I solved that poblem on mine. Take a piece of 1.5" angle iron and cut it to 11 inches long. Cut one edge of the angle iron down to .75 inch so you end up with a piece that is 1.5" X 3/4" X 11". Cut the same angle on each end that matches the angle of the frame seat support, sorry I don't remember the exact angle, but the finished bar will measure 11" on the long edge and 10" on the short. Now remove the rear tank bolts and spacers and place the the new support that you just made over the existing one, center it, and mark for holes for the tank bolts to pass through. Drill it and mount it. You will have extended the supports by about 3/4" on each side and your seat problem will be solved.

That sounds like a great idea Ken!
Buying a new seat is almost out of the question!!
I just recently had to buy a new seat $300 bones..I am so pissed..I backed off on (2) seats on ebay that went for a 3rd of that

Been there, done that. It cost me a new seat before I took the time to figure out the problem. I hate spending $300 on something that doesn't make it faster!

One launch over Sand Mountain @ full throttle will take a seat out real quick..
It ripped the latch right off and cracked the heck out of the rest of it.
It pretty much looks like somebody took a hamnmer to the under side
