Default Garmin Rino

Well, I was able to talk my wife into "allowing me" to get the garmin Rino GPS/FRS unit. I gotta tell you, this thing kicks a$$! It has all the features of the eTrex series (almost exactly the same software) with some additional features supporting the FRS/GMRS radio. I also just ordered the handlebar mount for it, I'll let you know how it holds up. I may have to fabricate an aluminum one later, we'll see.

Anyway, now all I have to do is get the headset with the PTT and see what I can do to modify it to mount it in my helmet with the PTT button on the handlebars.

That sounds really cool, does it has a DC adapter? If it uses batteries you'll have problems after an amount of time due to carbon build up on the contact points. The buildup is caused by sparking from the battery to the contact during the bouncing that happens in use while mounted. The result is your GPS turns itself off after the smallest bump. Just something to keep in mind since my Garmin GPS12 doesn't work as well as it used to, prior to my handlebar mount.
