Default Giving shift lever a raise

Has anybody been able to raise the shift lever beyond the point where it hits the case? I,ve raised it to this point, but seems just not quite high enough to get a boot under it comfortably. This little problem cotributed to a transmission repair ( bent shifting fork I think) warranty covering this one but I,am thinking a little torching and the proper sware words might bend it the way I want. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

i wear motocross style boots on my ds and i have no problem. my advice is just put it back in the stock posisition and get use to it. thats what i did, and it works just fine.

I did a search on the idea of using the 400ex shifter on a DS650 and this was the only thread I found, there may be more if you can find them.

That isn't a lot of information, but perhaps CALDS650 knows more.

i moved mine up and also noticed that it is rubbing the case, have you thought about removing the shifter and maybe bending it a little?

Any body know how the offset of a 400EX shifter compares to the DS's offset? I know they make long shifters for the EX...now that might be nice for these 13's

Am I missing something here?? I moved mine up one notch, my boots fit under it easily and it doesn't hit the case. Maybe your shifter is bent in?? just bend it out away from the case just enough to miss it.
If you go with a longer off-set, the shifter will always be in the way. JMO

Since no one else has this sort of problem, perhaps Alba customized his shifter before they sold him the machine? I don't remember seeing anything out of the ordinary, however I wasn't looking for it nor was I riding his machine ever.If the lever can be bent without heat (as it sounds that it can be from the posts of others) that would be the best solution since heating the metal will weaken it.
