I'll PAY you to bring your DS to Indiana and play follow-the-leader on my ususal trails, because I have yet to ride with a DS and would love to see firsthand how one would do in my typical riding terrain. While you're at it, bring the V-Max also. No, I don't have any desire to race my Road Glide against you. We'll just leave from here with full tanks of fuel and ride side-by-side until one of us has to get fuel OR take his sore butt off the saddle for a break.
I'm NOT trying to say what I ride is better than what you ride - just different. Yes, I'm fat, balding(just a little and I'm not trying to hide it with a ponytail[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] as some seem to) and almost 50 years old. But I'm a heavy equipment operator and as far as I know I've never ridden with an accountant( or doctor, lawyer, politician or any other that I could positively tell was a Rich-Urban-Biker). Maybe you put too much faith in the TV documentaries.
The V-Max is a bike I've always wanted to test ride, as I've always read and heard about their awesome power, but to me their styling is butt-ugly. I have, over a period of about 35 years, owned and ridden a fair variety of 2 and 4(only one 3) wheeled bikes both on and off road. I chose what I now ride because I felt they were best suited to my personal tastes and usage. I'm positive you wouldn't like my machines even if they were gifts where I on the other hand might enjoy the DS and the V-Max with just a little seat time.
I prefer to try to be open-minded, but you come off like a "dude with a'TUDE". Sort of surprised you have a Dakota, perhaps the one thing we could agree on as I own 2 of them. Aren't there any Nissan or Toyota dealers selling trucks near you?

Just curious, you apear to dislike Harleys (That is the impression I am begining to get anyway.), because you feel that they are selling the same crap that you claim they have been selling for 25 years. At the same time, you are down playing Buell's and in your signature you are slamming on the New V-Rod (Both of wich are far from traditional HD's). Isn't the V-Rod what, you in all your wisdom, you are saying that Harley needs to do? Update, create something Modern, something New? Hey as far as the money issue goes, it's call free enterprise. If you could get 20 grand for your VMAX, you'd take it in a heartbeat.

Bro, I served this country in the military for 10 years, both of my grandfather's were killed in WW2 my dad has 2 purple hearts from Vietnam and I hung a flag in front of my house always/everyday, EVEN before 9-11, when it became 'trendy'. How about we compromise and meet somewhere in between. We could have a best 2 of 3 different events contest - like 300 ft drag, mudbog and logpile climb for the quads. Then we could do a 'slow race', fuel economy contest and 2 bike motorcycle show judged by impartial strangers.

Not one of the 3 Polaris quads I've owned have needed dragged anywhere, they just didn't breakdown. I will admit my first Sportster, an AMF model [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img], had to be trailered back to my garage ONCE because of a flat rear tire. The evo 1200, 80" Dresser and now the Twin Cam 88 have NEVER leaked the first drop or required anything other than normal servicing, but you talk about tow trucks like you've 'been there-done that'.
