Does Anyone Make A Steel 42-Tooth Sprocket For The DS?

15-42 works with stock chain, are you sure you are getting you chain adjusted right, i saw a little wear on my aluminum sprocket, but the chain was to tight. i don't think i ride in anything but sand.

My brother put an aluminum sprocket on his 250R. It worked fine in the dirt. But after a week of hard riding in the sand, it was toast. I'm trying to avoid running into the same problem, and everyone with whom I've spoken has told me that sand + DS650 + big guy + aluminum sprocket = disappointment.

I have been running with 15/43 and an aluminum 43 tooth rear for about 9 months now and mine still looks like brand new! You just have to keep your chain tensioning right. And I have a used 42 tooth for sale if you want it , it is like brand new.

seems like nobody wants to change the chain, whats up with that? new sprocket, old chain, won't that wear on the sprocket also? i bought a chain when i went to 15-43 there not that bad on price.

If you get an aluminum rear sprocket make sure you get it heat treated. This will make it last longer. You get the aluminum sprocket to reduce the un-sprang weight. Now DuraBlue has an ultra high-tech aluminum sprocket hub that reduces Hub/Sprocket weight by half! Combine it with the heat treated aluminum sprocket you can save more weight and get more power to the ground.
