Okay , I think I will be coming staight west on I-40 till I get to Flaggstaff,AZ then go south to Phoenix.

My question is:[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]drum roll please) Do I take I-10 into california then drop down to wash 11 from the north??
OR, from Phoenix, do I go further south and catch I-8 through Yuma, and sneak up from the south???Hmmm.

Take I-17 from Flagstaff to the 101 loop west ( you can take I-17 to I-10 but I'm going to save you about 30-45 minutes) take the loop 101 west to I-10 west. Take I-10 across the Cali border, about 15-20 miles into Cali you'll get off at SR78, follow the signs for SR78 you will have to weave a little to get by all the farms and fields. That will take you right to the sand. Once you see the store you will notice Rail Road tracks before the store, cross the tracks and imediatley turn left. Count the # of washes (which are labeled) to wash 11.

Does this make sense?

If you took I-17 to I-10 then went thru Yuma it will add about 2 hours onto your drive.

PS. The loop 101 is just north of PHX. Flag to PHX will take you about 2 hours.

Man, You and I are on the same exact schedule. I HOPE to pass Phoenix around noon on Thursday and will be coming I-40 to Flagstaff then 17 down towards Phoenix. Keep an eye out for a red F150 with a Blue Banshee in the bed and towing a 21' Tahoe travel trailer while you're driving. I'm hoping for good weather too since I have to come all the way through Colorado into New mexico.

No prob, you DON'T want to take the I-17 to I-10. Once you get into the city a little traffic on the 17 is nutt to butt.
