Default Easiest way to remove/install c-clip on front shocks

I need to adjust the preload on my front shocks, but before I booger-up the c-clips and want to ask for ideas on the best method from removal and installation.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Default Easiest way to remove/install c-clip on front shocks

i twist the spring and nut which will take the pressure off the clip, then i pull it off with pliers

I just wackeked her with a hammer and screw driver on each side, then finished it off by pulling straight with a pliers.
