This sounds like it could be a bit of disinformation to throw us off the scent, but there are some rumors floating around Bombardier that the 400cc Sport Quad may be a 2 stroke, and not necessarily a single cylinder. I'd be suprised it this turned out to be anything other than a rumor, but wouldn't that jolt the ATV industry!

I got good news and bad news for all of you. The 400ish quad was scrapped for reasons I cant say but as of right now there is NO 400 class quad coming out 4-stroke wise. Dunno on the 2-stroke as it has just been a rumor. The lighter DS is going to be a 2004 model for sure and I have also herd about the X package being real. There is another possible Bomb quad coming as well but is still very much in the developmental stage and i would'nt count on it. The only thing I absolutly know for sure is the 400 is bye bye.

I don't think I'm going to want to wait until August or September, though who knows. I wonder what the MSRP will be & how much dealers will want to rape people on the price when it is first released? If it's anything like the previous new models, they'll want $500 over MSRP, plus plus plus.
I know of a dealer in Hollywood who gets that now, I think it's just the fact the people around there don't want to go any further, however I wont part with my money that easy. He'll probably sell the new machine for $10,000 OTD and tell you he's giving you a great deal.

The article also said $6499 msrp and the rev limit will be raised 300rpms. They also give some gearing advice but I can't remember what it was in terms of sprocket sizes. they said the DS is radically undergeard to keep it under 75mph top speed. They said if you change the gearing to the way Bomb originaly wanted it you get and 85 - 87 mph top speed. They also said Bomb is working with all kinds of new jetting/carb setups.
