Default Race Head Question

with the stageIII rwr i noticed right away the loss of low end power. i had the A1 cams rwr head work 11.5 piston 45mm carb, but wow the top end was strong, from 6000rpm to about 9000rpm it pulled good. now adding the extra cc's (760) i have the low end back and still good rpm's past 8000. ever satisfied

Default Race Head Question

While at FSW2 I looked over one of Gary's race heads. He (the machinist) put in the largest intake valves possible without overlapping. However it did'nt really look like the ports had been enlarged to take advantage of the increased size. Maybe it hadn't been ported yet. Still I wouldn't suspect slapping that head on a stock bore would do much good. They call it a race head for a reason. It should be matched with huge cams, bigger exhaust, dual 39's or a 48mm carb and bigger bore. I'm doing a home porting job on volkswagon heads so I've been reading up quite a bit. Flow bench readings only tell part of the story, velocity is very important. You can flow big numbers but hurt velocity by oversizing ports, carbs, valves, cams or exhaust. Flow benches tell part of the story, dynos are the way to go.

Default Race Head Question

i have about the biggest cams made in my DS right now. bigger than pami or any web cam. all of this on a 650(stock bore).

why would you not call this a race motor? if my motors not a race motor alot of other companys are doing a pissy job in building them.

Default Race Head Question

I agree with dsmike i have personnaly seen him walk away from full race 760 on alchohol, every raptor ive ever seen him race is not been a comparison as of yet. so with this in mind jusst make sure you get what you pay for. im not saying nothing about tvi or pami but for what they are asking for there head work sam coe performance would do it three times. now im not saying that sam coes head work is good because i dont have it but i dont think the performance of a tvi head is worth the difference in price. my 02. worth

Default Race Head Question

i'm not tring to cut on any shops heads or preformance upgrades. i just don't like reading about how much better one shops is to another with no proof.

i have thought about buying the 760 from gary. i bought some parts from him at 4SW's hes a cool guy.

if you search around and find out what all RWR has won in the past years you will know that there parts must work. they have been racing a rotax 650 for many years.

Default Race Head Question

i like how all the woods parts are tested together instead of a company that makes pistons then just cams, and there customer service is great!

Default Race Head Question

I have beat DSmike 2 times. LOL LOL

Biggerisbetter- I think that DSmike is in the 80's. He would not dyno the black ride at FSW's BECAUSE all the other DS's would be crying and calling foul. If anyone wants a fast DS try to talk Steve and Mike into working on it. I almost bought a DS from TVI at FSW's and MAKE Mike and STEVE build it for me.

If you want to go fast......call SCOOBY, DSMIKE , sam coeds and JEFFINMARGARITAVILLE and they will clue you in. Call the others and you will still be behind.
