Default Excessive Crank-case blow by...

I too have black soot all over my stock exhaust by the end cap. Seems the stock end cap doesnt seal so well. Thats cool if its rich because my new exhaust is on the way.

Default Excessive Crank-case blow by...

and am totally sweating trying to do that job myself but really don't want to pay a dealership to do it...worried about being able to find the right shims in a timely matter and don't have a bolt for holding it at top dead center.
I'm in the same situation here...does the TDC bolt come with the quad? Also, I've heard you can get the shims from a BMW dealership if your bombardier dealer wants to charge too much...

You can make your own TDC bolt I did cost me 32 cents. I just took the one in the hole to a hardware store and found one longer and filed off the threads on the end works great.

i got shims at a kaw dealer and i've been told yamaha works also.

What do you mean "the one in the hole" ? is it already in there?

I took the stock allen head bolt that is on the DS650 and got a M 8X1.25 bolt at least 40mm long. (50mm is better) TDC home made bolt Finshed bolt
