Default Overeving RWR CDI

Looked and didnt find any past posts about this. How easy is it to overev the DS with a RWR CDI and do potential engine damage? Sometimes the DS will pop out of gear when I have just downshifted and Ill be on the throttle hard. It will rev really high. Is it easy yo damage the engine like this?

last year i ice raced my ds with just a stage I kit ( no internal mods just carb, exhaust, cdi) ran it hard, way beyond and trail conditions would be. in the spring it went to the stage III kit and removed the stock piston for the rwr piston. on the top of my stock piston there were 2 pronounced smiles on the top of it!! over rev city no damage no reason to suspect anything was off, this motor is stout!!! it will take all you can throw at it and then some. just use you'r head, buy a tach would also help.

the only thing i have broke from missing gears is the intake cam. been lucky, not bending any values. the rotax motor is VERY strong.

i have a cdi from woods on my wifes ds and she has no idea what over-rev is i don't think with stock cams you can over rev easyly, i think it would take cams, and then like dsmike said it took a missed shift under full power. i've had my engine apart a few times and they are put together nice. i think the only thing to give much thought about is the cooling fan and the water pump sill.
