Default my 10 hr maintenance experience

my dealer gave me an oil change, lube, and checkup for both me and my friend's DS and a shop manual on CD for $100. That's 100 bux for all of that, pretty good deal I thought because the shop manual most places is $75 by itself. However, this was the 10 hour maintenance and he didn't check the valve clearances. I specifically talked with him about this prior to the maintenance and he said since they start right up in 20F weather and run great he figured there was no need to check them when it would just charge me around 1.5 hours labor to do unneeded work($40/hour for labor). He did everything else (oil change, chain & zerks, clutch cable adjusted, etc)
When I get the time I'll just check the clearances myself, I've never done it before but it sounds pretty easy.
So what I'm saying here is that these quads are under warranty (extended warr too) and if they don't follow the exact bombardier procedures and something blows up it's their fault

HMMMMMMM...
I did it my self. The checking part is EASY. I am in the process of doing the valve spacing and that is not as bad as I had worried about.

My 2 cents is that he should have checked the valves. I'd still make him, good luck, Putt

My dealer wants $280 including valve check. He must think I'm made of $$$$$$$.

i say learn to do it yourself that way you know the machine and if some little thing goes out you can fix it and not lose any riding time. i know some of my mistakes cost me but i know i'm still ahead of the game and i kind of enjoy figureing out the machine.

I'll check them myself, I'm like sandman I'd rather do it myself. When I bought the quad, not only did I make an investment...I started a great hobby. man I can't wait to ride again!
