hey everybody, have u guys noticed the guy in oregon TOTALY parting out a ds on ebay, over the last couple weeks he's sold a arms, engine' tires n wheels, now hubs??? i dunno, this all seems kinda suspicious, i don't know maybe the thing got whacked and he's just partin his old ds out, i dunno, it just seems funny thats all.... people have to have seen this, any thoughts? i'm just hoping this is a legit guy like a dealer or sumthin... lates,.....

It could be stolen.

I have parted out entire quads on ebay before. Buy them for a couple hundred wrecked and sell them for about 1500-2000 in parts on ebay. He could have wrecked it. Did he sell the frame yet? You can look at his feedback to see if he is a trustworthy person. You can email him and just ask him outright. I had lots of people email me and ask.

 

i looked again at the ad on there, it says dallas oregon, i have no idea where that is, i think the guy has sold everything but the frame, i know i saw the engine sell, so there is a vin # out there somewhere, like we all have said though, i just hope this is a honest guy selling a damaged quad. umm it's not like i wanted to start poop with whoever this guy is but i was just kinda curious....

 

Hopefully whoever bought the engine checked it out so see if the DS it originally came in was ever stolen. Bombardier keeps records of that kind of stuff. It's entirely too easy to remove the frame SN from a DS.

I put a marking on a bunch of random parts of my quad (plastics, tank cover, seat, etc), and have a detailed list of their locations. On the off chance that it's stolen and I see parts for sale, I can look at/buy them and check for the markings. I hope it never comes to that for me or anyone else though...
