I went to day to see a "03" Outlander 400 and talked with one of the guys at the shop who had taken there shop demo out riding. When I ask him what the top end speed was he told me a MPH figure that I find just a little hard to believe. Will you owner's of the 400 Outlander please post your tested top speeds? What I wonder about is top speed on a flat, gravel road. I think I'm going to buy one irreguardless of the top speed, I saw alot on this machine to open my eyes "wide open". Thanks for your feed back.

GreenFAL, I have had my outlander up to the 56-57 range. I still had a little room so I would guess 60 would be doable. My machine is really quick to 50 then the acceleration begins to flatten out. What I really love about this machine besides the handling and technology is how fast you can get to 50......exhilirating!

dirt wheels did a test and review a while back and said the outlander 400 had a top speed of 57 m.p.h.
That's according to dirt wheels .
ride what you like and ride it hard every chance you get.

Top speed is in that high 50's or so. The quickness of this machine is realy fun. I have been doing a lot of riding in the snow since I picked my two up and the control and comfort of the ride has been top notch.
My son and I have been hammering on them pretty hard without any problems at all coming up. The snow is now gone and the quickness is now more apparent than ever. The trail riding season is year round, but without the snow the fun has kicked into another gear. If you go this rout, you wont be sorry.

Greenfal:
You will have a blast with this new ride. I'm sure that you have done your research already, so I assume that you are already aware of the suspension noise issue in the rear of these units. NOTHING to worry about, but it is something to have your dealer grease properly before you leave with it on Monday. Both of mine did it and I was told that the factory just didn't grease them enough and are telling their dealers to do the following:
(Put more grease on the torsion bar splines & right hand circlip. It just took 10 minutes and the noise is gone.)
It's a side to side movement that makes this noise... since the greasing... nothing further. I gotta say, I had a great day ridding today and this machine is fantastic. Your going to love it.
Best of luck,
Kaz
