what he says about the smaller ports makes sense. ever used a blower to help start a fire? when i was a kid my dad had a fireplace made out of a 55 gallon oil drum in his workshop. he had a two inch pipe stuck in the bung hole for a vent. I learned early on that if i started a fire and left the door open it would take a while to get going. however, if i closed the door and left the vent open the fire created enough suction that the vent turned into a blower and accelerated the fire. it think the same thing happens with the smaller ports, the intake suction brings more air/fuel in faster and under more preasure that with larger ports.

 

Demon- did you read issue#22- that is the $50K championship winning race engine tear down- it uses pistons with a single sealing ring- for less friction - but sealed beautifully. Pami knows how to build their stuff!

Does JE make all Pami pistons? I have what I'm told is a piston from Pami, made by JE, and it has 2 comp rings and an oil ring, like the norm. What's this about Pami's having a single compression ring?

I havent read that one yet but i will now for sure. I always end up reading them all like 3 times to make sure i get it all.
