Just finished my TM45 tuning

Hightower, I took the plunge and ordered the TM45 today. Found a brand new one on Ebay. Sending the money order in a few minutes. I am sure I will be talking to you about it. Glad to hear that you are getting yours dialed in. Good riding to you. Hawk

Got mine off Ebay too....when you get it there are a few things that will need to be done to make it ready. Choke cable, plug off the two vents on the front of the carb, lighter return spring if your staying with the themb throttle, and jetting of course. Mine came set-up for a Harley, with a 20 pilot, #97 needle (I think), and a 135 main, ect....

hey guys, about the choke - you can install the choke assembly off the stock carb onto the new TM45, it fits perfectly and correct. you just gotta lift the seat to reach it each ride.
The carb from RW costs more, $400 I think, because they also fit it with an extended collar on the front to make more clamping surface, and it fits exactly in place of the stock carb, perfectly trapped between the intake manifold and the intake tube coming from the airbox. if you wanna go carb mount filter and elliminate the intake tube, the bigger clamping surface is very handy to help keep the carb from coming off. they might sell you this collar, if you want it.
regardless how you mount it, you need to port the intake to match - roughly 1.5mm needs removed from inside radius. round files and emery cloth are all that's required, die grinder and cutting bits ideal, or have a local shop do it more like $20. taper it back a good 1/2" and you're good to go.
