Default Dead battery question

It's only happened twice I went to hit the starter button and got that all dreaded sound of a dead battery. Is there some thing that is working the battery when the key is off that I'm missing. The system should be dead and I just had it out last week end ran fine and started fine. The battery is about two years old and around 50 to 75 hour on it.

Default Dead battery question

Just make sure you use a 12V trickle charge system...again, "Battery Tender" is a name brand that is specifically designed for ATV/motorcycle batteries. YUASA also makes a nice one for 30-40 bucks that has the idiot lights that let you know the state of the charge. Both models are automatic and should not overcharge the battery. Nothing too special on charging the Bomb's battery...better not to jump start it for the sake of the other electrical components--CDI, voltale regulator, rectifier...cheaper to maintain it with a tender. Also, bump starting the DS might get you started but will not allow you to generate a full charge on the battery and the DS will not run properly with a low battery...

Default Dead battery question

I had the same problem with my 2002 Baja. I just bought a new battery. The old one was the yuasa black one and so is the new one. I live in New York (brrrrr) and it was tough to start in the cold weather. Apparently, if you dont have the battery tender....you just gotta step up to the plate and get a new one.
