Who has gone from TM45 to dual carbs?
I want/need info from somebody who has gone from the 45mm single to dual carbs - any dual combination, I know there are many choices.
Throttle response when punching off idle - is it better, worse same? You know, that infamous lag if you slam the throttle of the 45 at idle, well, how does it compare on the duals?
I know peak hp is higher with the right duals, but what about low end, response, etc.
How about throttle tension 0 too much for a thumb?
Be sure to let me know what duals you speak of, wjether or not they use accel pumps, and any details on air induction.
I've read all the previous posts, got no real details on this.
Thanks in advance.

Vegas650 has the twist!
Rode a snowmobile last Sunday (first time!!!) and wouldn't necessarily want to put one of those thumbies on my quad...bout like a throttle on a waverunner. Cable comes up into the lever and hooked into a notch on the lever. The snowmobile my buddy was on the cable jumped loose once. FWI--you don't want to get stuck in a deep drift on one of those dam heavy machines at 10000 feet! Talk about a workout...sheeesh!

went from the 45 to dual 36 mikuni's. having a accel pump again is great!! i got use to the bog of the 45 but never liked it. the 36's come out of the hole clean and pull all the way up. one trade off is the twist but the spring action is just to stiff for the thumb, plus with my cable it's a push-pull system for safety. because of the tite area behind the carbs i have to run uni air filters, i dont like a filter i have oil to messy would much rather have my k/n's back but there not flexable enough to fit. the 36's have 2 accel pupms but only one is hooked up? i guess one shot of gas is enough, no bog here ( i lost more than one postion ice racing because of the 45 bog) you can see pics of the mikuni's on pami's site. you still have to trim the cross member and route cables thru frame good luck.

i have acclerator pump on my 45, works great, no bog off idle at all, but too hard on the thumb so I deactivated it and went with the lighter return spring.
sounds like the duals have the same issues - its either a twist throttle or deal with it.
the treachorous hills and technical stuff we ride regularly makes a twist throttle undesirable, so I have to deal.
thanks guys!
