Default Graydon CDI for 03 ....wiring solution

Incase any body is interested , the CDI from graydon dosn't fit the plug on the 03 ...Thanks to this forum i managed to get a wiring diagram for connecting the RWR CDI directly to the 03 bike .

I can confirm that the Graydon and RWR wiring is exactly the same as i have now connected my GRaydon (off my 00) to my 03 and it all works perfectly .

Hope that makes sense .

What i did was unclip the wires out of each plug and joined them together (male and female connectors ) then i covered them in heat shrink tubing .it looks perfect and will stay better protected from the elements .

Interesting point , when i pulled the stock connectors apart they had a heap of wet sand in between them .and i had only done three hrs or so since new . basically the seal not doing its job in those connectors .

Cheers

Try using GM style Weatherpak plugs from Lawson Products. They come in a bank of six conductors. I will be doing this to mine tpmorrow nite. Also I will fit the old box with the same connector if I would want to change back. These plugs if used correctly should keep even wet sand out.
