It's not just Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo and ATVs. Bombi Rec also owns Johnson and Evinrude outboards, Rotax, Orbital DFI technology - they have alot going for them. Hell, I'd buy 'em if I could!

Let's all chip in our savings and buy it up I think that THEN you'd see some freaky shiznit coming out of the factory

It's too bad that Bombardier is having problems in any of their divisions, and that it'll affect a successful one. Debt can kill a business in a hurry, even if they're making money. Do you know how much the annual interest on $1,000,000,000 is?

There's nothing wrong with two cylinder, large bore snowmobile engines. On the mountain, people seem to favor the twins.

I'm still dreaming of the day we see a 600 Rotax sled engine in a quad frame. That would have to be your first new product, SoonerDuner.

There will be a sale of the recreational products division, and the "family" is expected to buy it. That could be a good thing. The "family" wholly owns 60% of the entire company. SO if the aerospace division tanks it will still hurt them real bad. Two other bidders are expected to be John Deere and Harley Davidson, but neither is expected to outbid, or even have their bid ready in the short time expected for this all to happen, less than two months.

It isn't fuzzy logic, it's a last resort kind of logic. Sometimes the sale of a division is the only way to keep the entire business from being owned by creditors. If you have even one bad year, debt can pile up to the point that all "profit" the next year goes to paying interest. When that happens, even if business is good a firm could go under. When a business is in that kind of spot, they can only sell what's not tied to the losing part of the business in order to raise some capital and get out of debt.

About the potential Recreational Division buyers:
If the family buys it, I don't think much will change. Best case senario.
Deere's greatest legacy in recreational products was selling that division, which led to the creation of Polaris.
I just don't think it would be a good thing if H-D bought it.

Well, DAVE B!!!??? Do you know me? Well then, How about nice big cup of Shut The Fu#$K UP!!!! For your information I was riding snowmobiles by the time I was 3 yrs old! The majority of the sleds I grew up on were SKI-Doo's. I had a Blizzard 5500, Everest 440 LC, TNT 330 SM, and an Everest 500 L/C. NOt to mention all the older ones than that our family had!!! Also I raced Professionally in RMSHA (Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Hillclimbing Association) I was sponsered by Polaris and Fox just to name a few. Look, I love Ski-doo snowmobiles but in the Deep Powder and Hill climbing World they just don't have it! The only guy to kick but on a SKi-Doo was Captain" Kirk" Williams, Running a Ski-Doo engine Built by Union Bay and if I remember correctly, a Custom built chassis and I think maybe a F.A.S.T. suspension set up. Actually I think it was an M-10 suspesion that F.A.S.T. built for him. I have a friend here in L.A. who I will put his Polaris based sled against anything your heart desires! You stepped into my world now!!! No hard fellings DAVE B but think before you speak! Please. Take care.

Personally, I hope Harley comes up with the winning bid. Instead of lowering the weight of the DS they could pack on another 200lbs or so. First thing I'd buy would be a black skid lid bean cap helmet and then leather sadle bags and the vest. All of course after I'd have bought the factory two valve adaptor kit.
