was wondering which bike is the fastest and in what category would either be best in.

Please keep the bashing to a minimum and say stuff you've experienced, not what u think.

I'm already planning to get a DS but I'm just curious how it matches to the Pred.

in the dunes there nice, my wifes ds with cdi, and regeared would win at comp hill, and on the flats the ds started to pull away, so the gearing was probably lower on the predator, they run nice. now on a track i think the ds would be in trouble.

Got a kid on my daughters basketball team (I'm the coach) who finally got his Predator. I say finally because he had money down in December here in Vegas and when it finally came in, he wanted to write a check for the difference in the money down and the balance due. After about 15 minutes of asking his saleman and the salesmanager for a total price before down, they came back, are you ready for this???? $9200. I thought he was joking me, he wasn't! What a rip! Gave him the explanation that "these bikes are hot right now". he said what about the agreed-on price? Long story short he should of had the price in writing. Now they are giving them away here in vegas. He ended up getting his for $150 below MSRP.

In addition to the long wait and a horrible dealer, he has had the bike in for service 3 different times.
1. Leaking motor - under the clutch housing
2. cracked clutch basket
3. Broken main steering shaft - weld busted

All this within 41/2 weeks. Never even got to the dunes.

He also says that the tranny is real quirky - I have no idea what he means though.

I'm sure that most of this is first year model stuff.

 

I would say all of that stuff wrong with your friends Predator is an isolated case and not the norm. I haven't raced a DS yet but headed to Snakehunt and win or lose I am there to have a good time.

 

Does anyone have experience dragracing both quads against each other. Preferably in stock form.

Please note the surface you raced on. There are no dunes near where I live, so I'm not really into the sand (I wish I knew where the closest ride-able dunes are).

Your telling me a Predator can hit the same top speeds as DS' can.

Well, I raced a pred with bolt ons.. And I still wooped him. I have a stage 1. I was able to pull away from him with ease in any gear.. You simply cant match power from a 650 to a 500 with mods on both..

 

on the flat drag on wet pack sand my wifes ds with cdi took the predator, and his buddies banshee, they both had pipes and gearing. it was closer on comp hill, if the ds was geared 15-40 it would have been a bigger gap. with the woods pipe now her wins over the predator are larger. the flat race was with me about 185 the guy on the predator was about 150. but it all comes down to riders if you sit and wait the predator will walk off and leave you. we ran 4 or 5 times with the ds pulling each one.
