the outlander has the blessing of the mags not that this always works. but i would go with the outlander, really like those rotax engines.

I have the new Outlander my buds got a 03 450 Kodiak, both good bikes but the ride of Outlander makes it head & shoulders a better bike to spend the day on. My take is this visco lock front diff is best of the open diffs the kodiaks locking diff is better. Power wise flip a coin. Bomby has better brakes & handles all situation better. The Kodiak really suffers from a lack of ground clearance. The Kod is a little ligther again probably due to simple solid axle design. Yam is only a rear suspension from being equal competition to any bike.

I agree with everything sxr6 said.I own an older Yami 400 never had a problem with it.I have pulled many logs with it when camping, lots of grunt. The yami starts every time with little or no choke in the coldest of times where as the Outlander is abit of a pane when its cold (same as my ski-doo) but when it is warmed up no probs at all. But WHAT a difference the ride is on the outlander(IRS)!! second to none in every terraine. The ground clearance as well (and frame design) on the lander is very noticeable in the deep snow or mud.The Outlander definitally will go where the Yami cant. You can also shift the Lander from 4x4 to 2x4 and it has the visco lock front end. Both good quads,I suggest you test ride both before making your mind up.As well read as much as you can about them both.....good luck!!!
