Default Our project coming to an end

I had an idea several weeks ago regarding dual FCR 39's. I was playing on ebay and noticed that a lot of people were selling quad (4) fcr 39's that came off of there street bikes. Well I figured why not buy them and split them to make 2 sets of dual 39's. After talking AZsand into it we decided to go ahead and give it a shot.

Well, it worked. Last night AZ and I installed dual 39's on my bike. We are waiting on a throttle cable before I can really try it out, but the bike started almost right away and sounded GOOD!!!!! We manually turned the throttle a couple times and it revs like a mad man....

We bought the set for about $400.00 then bought the intakes and filters, we then had to purchase another throttle assembly and idle. All in all were into them for about $744.00 including all shipping and taxes. They did take a little bit of modifying but nothing drastic. It basically comes out a 2 for 1 kinda deal. If you don't mind a little modifying then this could be a viable option for those of you that have 2 DS's or a buddy that has one too. We had to cut the cross member and shave down a couple parts on the carbs once they were sepparated, but like I said nothing drastic.

I should have some pics up soon. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cool, I hope that it works out for you guys. You could have duals, plus and extra set to boot.

I had the idea of buying a Harley TM45 for the DS. Would it be easier to just go with the RWR setup. Or can the Harley be easily modified?

You can use the HSR 45, I believe it costs about $30.00 to have it converted.

Myself and ForceFed are in the middle of changing the Harley HSR45 over for use on the DS. We both found them on Ebay, mine was brand new from a Harley house. Ron Wood makes a lighter throttle return spring for it which makes the use of the thumb throttle easier. Also Wood makes an extented collar that goes on the intake side of the carb that you need, about $15. You will also have to buy different main jets, pilot jets, and a different needle. It is gonna come out about the same money wise by the time you get everything you need. If I had it to do over, I probably just would have bought one and got it over with. Save the hassle. Just by the carb and not the intake. Hightower told us just to port our existing intake.

What intakes did you use for the 40 mm lectrons. AZ and I had a heck of a time getting the 39's on the dual intakes.
