I have been trying to dial in my jetting and am wondering if I am changing the wrong jet, I have been changing the jet without the deep socket around it, is this the right one and what is the other one for?

 

does it have a slot in the top? and whats the number on top?

 

Both jets are the same 165 with a slot on top, one is in a deep socket like thing and one is not

 

the one down deep is your main if i remember right

 

The main jet looks like it has a sleeve around it and hangs down.

yo stockbomb, if they both say 165, one is wrong. The one with the sleeve around it is the main, it otta be 165 from factory, but the other one is pilot/starter circuit and should be like 40 or 45.

 

The carb has 3 jets two 165's and a 45 pilot jet, I just found out the other one is called a mid jet, well anyhow I changed them around and I can't believe how good it runs now. I was cussing my new Trinity pipe for no reason, it runs awsome now, 2nd gear is hard to keep the wheels down.

 

there should only be one 165 in the carb, neither of the other two should be over 45, if one is its wrong
