Has anyone extended a stock swingarm?

 

A friend of mine took the stock swingarm and welded 4 inch block of aluminum to the swing arm. He had to get a better rear shock for the extra travel and for the ride. It add weight to an already heavy swingarm. It seems to be holding up well and is working for him. I wont do it because I need to cut some weight off my bike and I want to go with a +6. Thats for when I get my big bore kit.

 

i think gary at tvi was doing that for a while, he now has aluminum
