Octane levels?
#1
So now that I am running probably about 12:1 instead of 12:5:1 I am curious if I can run Super unleaded up at St. A's. The elevation there is about 5300 ft. anyone ever do any research on elevation vs. octane?

After getting my stage III back I ran 112 octane Cam II for about 4 tanks and then switched to Sunoco GT 100 and the thing definitely runs better. 112 was too much for my 11.5:1 compression. This was addressed earlier in a post & somebody advised that 112 octane is only nesesary for 14:1 or higher compression. Turned out he was absolutely right, plus I save $2 per gallon, yee ha!

Tony, you can probably run super in it with no problem. I run 18cc domes in my banshee here and in utah with no problem, but if I went down to glamis, or dumont I would either have to change domes or change fuel.

woods told me to run super from the pump with there 11.5 piston, and i've been hearing that the higher the octane the slower the burn, that being the reason for some guys saying there running sluggish on the higher octane, one of the snowmoblie guys told me to put some of each type on the ground and throw a match to it and see the difference. i haven't tried this but i have ran just the pump gas and i don't hear and detonation. i'm going to try a few different combos this weekend. the plan is 1 to 4 for this ride
