Default Got my OMW motor back!!!!

Thought ya`ll might want to hear how this motor build-up went for me. It is a purpose built 200ft drag motor (he will build to suit your needs). Stock bore and stroke with the majority of the mods being a high comp piston, ring package, extensive head and valve work, cams, TM45, RWR CDI, and Graydon exhaust. I had to keep it a 650! (class structure) After a couple of set-up deciding phone calls, the motor was sent out. When it was finished we were accompanied by Mr. Horsepower to a dyno session. The results we good with a RWHP number in the low 60`s on gas and low 70`s on a Lectron drinking alky. The best part about the motor is just how flat the HP/Torque curves are. This thing pulls extremely hard from 6K all the way up to the 9K range. Went racing this past Sat. and had only intended to play with the suspension/wheelybar set-up when we found the DS taking 1st against the baddest bikes around! The bike turned high 3.7`s right off the trailer! We couldn`t be happier with the outcome and the only complaint the Mrs. has is that her wrists are sore from holding on! The man deserves recognition for his work and I wouldn`t hesitate to have OMW build for us again. Just wanted ya`ll to know there are more alternatives than the "commonly mentioned" builders out there. Form play to drag or TT to hillshooting, he`s got you covered. G

Wow... That's awesome to hear. I get more excited all the time when I hear about how little it takes to get these things making tons of power. So basically with a carb, cams, piston, and headwork, it's making 60+ rwhp. Awesome!

So is that HP number typical for those mods? Isn't that basically a RWR Stage I kit?

From what I have seen...it typically takes a RWR Stage 3 to get near that number. There was one at the same dyno before me in a nice state of tune making about 57 RWHP. I`m not stating anything specifically, but, HP numbers have a way of inflating themselves from one person to another! Also, we all know just how subjective HP numbers are. My motor could be making 10-15 HP more/less on a different dyno or different day. I do however have total faith in the clock. This DS last year ran @ 4.1`s in 200ft and was VERY competative.....this year we have already backed up several runs in the high 3.7`s with the OMW motor and I have yet to really dial it in. Anyone that drags knows just how significant 4 tenths of a second is! Just food for thought. :-)

that's really sweet, glad you're happy with it.
to clarify for tait - stage 2 is when you add piston and cam in the mix, stage 3 is when you do headwork/oversize valves/porting
stage 1 is just carb, pipe, cdi

I think that has been the Woods problem the 11.5 piston. Just not enough compression. The more the better. I think a stage 3 with at least 13.5 to 1 would be a monster to run. MrHP has got it figured out

Thanks guys.....! Hurycne, your right on with the compression. This motor runs a 14 or 14.5:1 (should kick myself for not remembering) The porting is pretty sweet too.
1bigdsrider......OMW is located in Kentucky.....
Can`t...........stop...........grinning.....!
