Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

hey, i bottomed out really bad today, i broke a mounting tap and the glass partof my headlight. does anyone have a headlight assembly sitting around? and i would like advice on how i should adjust my suspension...

I feel for you but at least you can type so I guess your okay. I planted my face in the sand on the backside of a dune at Little Sahara. I broke the tabs off my light. I replaced it but I didnt change my suspension because it was my dumb A$$ not my quad. Sorry I cant help you but I would try to stiffen them a little. Good luck and wear a helmet.

Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

i wear my brain bucket all the time. how should i adjust my rear shock so i dont bottem so much? does the compression or rebound have anything to do with botteming out? and another thing that dont help is the fact that... i still dont understand how to adjust my works steelers. help? please [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

Dont know about Steelers but Comp is how stiff and the rebound is what it sounds like. How fast it kicks up after it goes down. If the quad bucked you off caused by the kick up set rebound slower. If its just bottoming set it stiffer. Sorry not much help on the Steelers. Did you get any literature with them?

it didnt buck me off, but what should i do to the compression and rebound? or should i just adjust the preload? and yeh i got a manual with the shocks but i didnt really understand, they did a bad job on the manual. so just to make sure the compression is on the bottem of the shock, and the rebound is on the bottle?

Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

I think there are A LOT of people with broken headlights. Get some good two part epoxy, use a lot of it, and hope for the best!
My headlight was broken when I got it, I JB welded it together, broke both top tabs off while jumping one day, JB welded it together, broke one tab in a rollover and shook the other apart...

Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

brad, the comp is on the bottom and tighten it up two to three turns at a time unitl it can handle the tough stuff w/out bottoming.

Default i bottomed out to the max today.....

about 2 1/2 weeks ago i was jumpin a natural gas well storage, it was a perfect table top, bout 10-12 feet tall and another 20 long, well i hit it too fast and ended up missing the downside totally and bottomed out really hard, smoked my face off the bars n tore the muscle in my right leg,good thing i had my helmet on otherwise i would have done more then just bite threw my lip, just thought i'd share a lil story about my stupidity

also, i cracked the headlight mount on the bottom near the adjuster, it'll still be good enough for now, after the 04's come out i think i'm gunna get that headlight along with baja lights

ouch, i will tighten up the one on the bottem of the shock. and yeh i had broke tabs too i used some jb weld, but this time i landed so hard it broke the glass too [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
