I ended up losing the nut that holds my front sprocket on. I called 6 different dealerships, no one stocks this simple nut. When I was getting a spare battery, none of the dealerships stocked one. When I had my Suzuki, at least one of the local dealerships had just about everything in stock. Is this common for everyone? Also, it seems that every dealer within 150 miles from me is a farm equipment dealer first and an atv dealer second. If it weren't for you guys I wouldn't have a clue how to do some of the maintenance on my machine. It seems as if Bombardier is a little weak on dealership representation. I only know of one place on the internet to buy parts (Parker Yamaha). So, if we are forced to buy from the dealer and he doesn't have any parts, where does this leave us? This is the only draw-back to owning a Bombardier. Incidently, Parker didn't have the nut either. Where do all of you buy your parts?

try gary at tvi 503-648-1254, he might not have it new but it might on a engine, or off his quad. he got me a clutch basket that way. he has lots of parts, but don't come and say he is expensive, if you can order it for less at at a online store, it cost to stock parts. i've ordered about three things i needed the next day and guess what, he charged about a 1/4 of what i would have paid to not miss a weekend ride

I have dealer order - he always has it in about 3 days.
when you order the nut, order a couple of the splined washers that go under and don't forget to bend a tab over or it'll get lost again - I've seen it happen in a drag and it aint pretty.
FYI - the swingarm pivots nuts are the same thread, and can be used in a pinch if you were to lose the sprocket nut out somewhere on a ride without parts access.

I got the nut. It's just I was used to going to the Suzuki dealer and he had everything in stock. The only thing most dealers stock is the oil and filter. Everybody that replied said they had to order the parts. When I bought my Baja, I asked the dealer because he was relatively new if he was going to stock parts for it. He replied that if I bought that Bombardier required that you carry a certain amount of on-hand inventory. Is this just limited to oil, filter, and mabye brakes?

i don't like the fact that you can't just go buy a part, but to be honest they just don't break that much.

The bomb dealers are required to stock a certain level of parts. However I'm sure that almost no dealers would stock this part as it is not common that it needs replacement under warranty. The key word here is warranty. Just about all dealers only carry the parts necessary for servicing the bike and common warranty issues. Some only carry enough parts to just service the bike. Your situation is not uncommon. When my temperature switch went out, my dealer had to order that, even though it IS a common warranty problem.
