Compression Ratios - best way to achieve them??
#11
It's not really a money thing right now, it's more of trying to get the most with the least evasive changes. Seems that nothing really compares to the stock box and all else just isn't as tight. Now while that may be more fact than fiction, I can't help but to think about it. as far as the Flat Top vs Domed piston thing goes. I hate to say it DCryder, but most domed pistons seem to work very well in some extremely violent engines. Top Fuel, Alky, prostock etc, etc
Next thing is that I've got conflicting views on the stock cam. I've got most telling me that the stage 2 cams give a good mid and better top end. I've also got some telling me that the stock cams will flow efficiently to about 10,200 rpm. If this is the case, why not run the stock cams? The only draw back of running the stock cams is the you may not be able to blead enough combustion and start to ping. I've been told that in order to run the 11:1 piston on pump gas that you need the cams. If cams are needed then the money issue starts to come into play. I think cams go for $400 - $600.
What to do, what to do, what to do??????
