Did they email it to you? I'd like a copy of the service manual as well. How many km's do you have on yours? I am at 280.

Thanks,
Brendin

A shop manual would sure be handy, Any way you can post a copy? I have had mine for 3 mnths and everthing is working fine. The ride is a little rough compared to my 450 polaris. I have installed a winch on the front and just last week I installed a new shift lever which uses the toe and heel, a lot easier to shift. All the parts look like the Yamaha beartracker 250, I bought a shop manual for the yamaha off ebay for $8.00. The front head lights burnt out and I replaced them with Yamha bulbs, a perfect fit.
I have adjusted the rear spring to a higher setting which has stopped the bouncing around on the trails. The machine seems to run forever on a tank of gas.

Regards to All

i have about 250 kms on mine, baja tried to email me the manual but it was 50 megs and it would not come through so they sent me a photocopy of the book in the mail. i have to read it with a magnifying glass..no kidding..oh well it was free

my left head light burnt out as well and i have yet to replace it. i think i will get the yamaha beartracker manual on ebay. when i checked the valve clearance it was dead on but i still get a bit of chatter sometimes when i am driving, does yours do the same? maybe it is the nature of the beast.
have you guys checked your plugs yet ? mine were black but it does not burn any oil.
later

Mine chatters too sometimes. I have changed the only twice. Once when I got it and once at about 180km's. There was some metal flakes in the oil. I haven't looked at the spark plug yet. I'll check it out and let you know. Who did you talk to when you requested the sevice manual?

I have 350km's on my baja 250 now...I noticed that it has started leaking oil at the rubber boot where the engine meets the drive shaft. I took the boot off and there was some oil pooled up in it. I don't know if it just sprung a leak or if it has been slowly building up over time. Any of you guys get any oil leaking out of there? The clamps for the rubber boot aren't the greatest.

I am going to fix it myself as the warranty only covers parts and I don't really feel like paying someone by the hour to tear it apart and figure it out. I had baja email me a parts breakdown. They said they couldn't email the service manual as it is too big for their mail server. They said they would mail me a copy but then I received an email from emile saying only there service centers can have the service manual. I am calling the guy I talked to to see if he sent it out.

Garber- can you look in the service manual and see if you can see an oil seal somewhere in the plate that the rubber boot attaches to on the motor side?

Thanks,
Brendin

i scanned the page of the manual that shows how to take the drive shaft unit out and it gives a breakdown of the componets of the drive shaft unit (on the engine side).
do you have a email i could send the page to ? (it is a bitmap image), once you get it just increase the zoom and it is clear enough to read.
