my wifes redcat 150 wont run heres whats going on,

drove it around the land sat it ran great just a slight hesitation no big deal, so i oiled the filter, did not soak it,
started it up was running then it died, couldnt get it started, took carb apart cleaned it put it back together fired right up, it was idling a little low so i tried to adjust the carb, it idled down then died cant get it to start again.

does anyone have a starting point for the air mixture screw?

does anyone know whats up with thing?

im not having good luck with the chinease atvs, have a falcon 250 havent even drove it yet been waiting for parts for a month[ waterpump].

i took the carb off cleaned meaning took jets out sprayed it all out, wasnt even dirty, emptied out tank meaning cleaned tank out, changed fuel filter too a better one, put it together, fired right up, got it idling perfect. now when i give it gas it goes good to about 5 mph when i hammer on it it just bogs out, the carb is clean, new fuel filter,gas is good, im getting pi$$ed.

this all started when i oiled the filter, it looks like a k n filter with a sleeve on it, is it the oil restricting the air flow?

oh yeah put in a ngk plug too.

took the airfilter off ran great around the yard has power again guess i need a real filter, ran better before i oiled it go figure.

k and n recharge kit is what i bought, didnt soak it light even coat of oil can hardly suck air air thru it by mouth, bought a uni filter for it see what happens when it gets here.

 

what after market filter can i use for the redcat 150? thanks mike.

did you oil the paper filter or the outer sock? the outer sock should be oiled with 10w-40 oil. the paper filter is going to get blocked if you oil it. and the starting point for the air screw is 2 turns out.

 

i oiled the filter just like a k and n filter thats what the problem was clogged filter i used the right oil, i just put a uni filter on it, and fixed the problem.

 

Mine wasnt idling and I found out it was the spark plug. The 150s seem to have a lot of idling
problems.
