CVT Transmittion

O.K. I read that thread and a few others, I think I'm starting to get it. It's a little better than the old centrifugal clutch like we used to have on those cheap go karts and mini bikes. The weights roll out to govern the "shifting". So we don't get a linear curve on acceleration like a centrifugal. So in other words I can be cruising along at 25 mph while the motor is at say, half throttle. However; it sounds like folks have to play different sized weights to get the "shifting" to happen when they would like for their particular style of riding. Am I making any sense at all? Do I have the right general idea here?
Thanks

I just acquired a Falcon 150. The CVT feels different, that is for sure. But I would like it to start engaging earlier. It feels like it is revving more than it should to just begin moving.
