Default I'm going to be testing Jetmoto 125 and 150 Hop Up Kits!!

During a conversation with Eugene last week he told me about a couple of kits for the 125 and 150 hop up kits.

The 125 has a kit that includes a carb/air filter and a new header pipe/muffler combo. Then there is a new piston, cylinder, head and cam that will turn the 125cc into a 138cc.

The 150 has a new pipe/mufler/carb and a new crank, piston, head, cylinder and cam that will make the 150 into a 180cc. There is also some items to increase the CVT performance too.

Im supposed to get these kits some time this week. It doesnt really matter to me which one i try out first. So it any one wants one kit to be tested first..... Ill go with the majority of responses between now and when i get the kits.

I just got all the hop up parts for the 125 and 150. Im going to start with the CVT weights and racing clutch/spring for the 150. I'm not sure if I can use the big bore cylinder with stock crank. I would assume I couldnt use the longer crank with the stock piston....so maybe i will have to try them together. I will check all hat out tomorrow and let you know. The cylinder is very light weight, not sure if its some kind of coating or a very thin steel lining. Ill check that out more too. Since the 150 didnt come with a new pipe so I made one over the last couple of days. I'll be giving it to Eugene and it should be available in a couple of months or so. He will probubly want me to make one for the '07 150 for those of you who might be interested.

On the 125 Im going to try the pipe and air filter together, and then add the 24mm Mikuni carb. Then i will add the 54mm cylinder/piston to it.

Thanks for the interest outofline. I checked out the cylinder/piston for the 150 tonite. Its a 4mm oversize piston and the cylinder sleeve is a little approx 1.0 to 1.5mm too big to fit in the stock cases. I am sending some pictures to Eugene so he can get a 2.5 or 3 mm oversize piston/cylinder that will fit in the stock cases. The crank is a 3mm longer stroke and I should get the cases apart this weekend to see if it will work.

Tomorrow nite Im going to try the filter and pipe on the 125. I put the pipe on tonite but didnt have time to ride the quad. I will say that it sounds sweet and really changes the sound of the 125. More thump and less puff. Ill let you know how it performs.

I spent a lot of time with the 150 engine this last weekend and mainly found out what didnt fit. im going to be trying the cam next and will most likely build a custom 150 from the overbore kit and the stroker kit. Unfortunately most of the parts needed some sort of modification to work properly. So after taking a few pics Eugene will get back in touch with his suppliers and we wil try some other parts later.

Then I moved back to the 125 and the pipe, carb/air filter. With the pipe alone there is a little more power everywhere but the biggest improvement is the way the quad sounds. It sounds like a race thumper instead of a lawn mower. Next I put the Mikuni and the air filter on. OH MY GOSH!!! This completely changes the performance of the engine. More power everywhere and it seems to rev higher and have a higher top speed. I didnt get a chance to ride it very much but I was really impressed with the improvement this made. Next is the big bore kit for the 125.

Are these mods to yhe 125 easy to do.Exhaust, carb, air cleaner.Does the carb have to be adjusted?Does it just unbolt. What about the linkage. These mods sound great i just hope i can do them myself.

They all mount up easilly and the for me at 100' elevation. I needed to open up the fuel screw 1/2 a turn. I will check how many turns it is out from all the way in and post it later. Its a pain to get to so I just took the carb off to adjust it. The stock throttle cable works with the new carb. You just have to switch the slide and spring for the new carb. I could tell you how to do it if you bought the kit.
