Well I REhijacked the camera, and snapped a few pic's.

Just the rear suspension/swingarm. What there is of it.

A view from under the swingarm.

The brace I made for each rear fender.

Another view of the tensioner, also showing how I located the tension spring.

Over the weekend while my wife was riding jm 250, she sheared the four bolts that hold the sprocket to the spline drive hub on the rear axle. I pulled it apart and drilled out the bolts they seemed to be really soft, so i would recommend some higher grade bolts there. Last weekend we broke the chain, so i think adjusting the valves really opened up some power. I'm still running the 15 tooth sprocket, seems to run better with it in the sand. Also i have a shock leaking oil as well and my swingarm and shock linkage are shot as well, no grease. Has anyone put in grease zerks yet and where.

I replaced the 4 sprocket bolts awhile back. I drilled out the holes in the hub, and retapped them to 3/8-16 threads. I used grade eight bolts, and also used lock nuts on the threads that stuck out of the hub. That took care of THAT problem.

I've replaced the chain with a RK chain. The factory chain stretched REAL quick.

For the riding we do the 14 tooth sprocket is about perfect. Mostly trails, mud, and hills here.

I've noticed a knocking noise from the rear, and it was the shock linkage. The bearings were frozen up. Lack of grease, and no way to grease them. I've got a new linkage coming, and I will either drill and tap the linkage, or cross drill the bolts to allow me to grease them.

I had a front shock that blew the seal, got a new one coming also. I recommend taking each control arm off, pulling the seals out of the points where it pivots on the frame. Flush out the old grease, if there is any, and repack them. It's not that big of a job.

Also, check the stops on the steering stem. I noticed that the bike would turn sharper in one direction than the other. One stop had broken off, not from damage but the weld had no penetration. I made a new one from a piece of angle iron, and welded it on.

I hope to have the new parts here in the next day or so as my son and I planned on going to a new ATV park here this weekend. I've GOT to get away from the crazies coming to town for the 500 race Sunday!

Has anybody using the 14 tooth sprocket replace the chain yet?? If so where did you get it, and the part #??? I'm needing to lose a link in my chain, but figure I will just replace it with a better one...

$75.00 is about right. It will last just about forever. I have had one on a my '88 YZ 80 for over 10 years. It was rode very hard for about 6 of the years, and putted around for about 3. I replaced it before the stock sprocket were worn by the stock chain and still have the stock sprockets on the bike also.

Well frustration is setting in. The bike has been setting for about 3 weeks now waiting on parts. Still no rear shock linkage, front shock, or ball joints. I sent the linkage, and front shock back to Jetmoto last week with the understanding that the replacement parts were on their way, Jetmoto just wanted to see the bad parts. The parts I sent to them made it to them in 3 days, but after almost a week I still don't have the replacement parts.

I know these bikes are not really for someone that has no mechanical ability since there is nowhere to take it for service, and the work has to be done yourself for the most part. My complaint is Jetmoto needs to expedite the shipping of parts so their customers don't have to wait so long. At least allow the customer to pay for expedited shipping.

Sorry for the rant but I had made plans to go out this weekend with my son based on the parts being shipped out before I sent the old one's back. If they don't show up tomorrow, so much for the weekend ride.

Jetmoto is in a bad place right now. Customs has been holding up shipments for 2-3 weeks instead of 3-4 days and it's slowed everything down. I've been waiting for 5 week just to get my Jetmoto, and I hope they figure it out because I won't be waiting 5 weeks for replacement parts. To be fair, I was told that it was backordered and would be 2-3 weeks before it shipped, and John said that Jetmoto will absolutely ship it by Friday (today) guarantee'd. I just hope I get a very happy phone call today with my tracking information or I'm going to be pissed. Did you get yours directly from Jetmoto? Don't be afraid to call and make sure they took care of you. They have been stressed out trying to get all the orders out with multible problems (customs, etc) and it's possible that the spare parts they ordered were held up in customs. No telling unless you call.

In my opinion, and this isn't a flame, Jetmoto needs to take care of the shipments it has right now, and then take a step back and look at thier entire process to see what the hold up is. I hope to God that they are filling orders based on the date the order was placed, and not alphabetically (-JNY get it?) I think they will figure it out and could quite possibly become a booming success, but the former is required for the latter.

I know that the ATVs have been held up in shipping but everything is up to date now! And 00XJ I have spoken to you many times and I know your parts are on the way! You should have them any day! We have sent you things before and I am sure all of the other parts made it there pretty quick. Reason for the delay on some parts were because all the containers on ATV that were being held up got release all at once and they have been work till 9pm every night unloading! We got in a ton of replacement parts also so we are just getting a handle on things!
