Default Carb tuning in a post snorkle world

I was reading about tuning the carb for the 1.5" snorkle I have on it. Has anyone read this: http://www.speedandsport.com/jet.html?

When I crank it up, it seems to idle pretty well (it's set a tiny bit high atm) and if you go on the gas very, very slowly, it will eventually get "over the hump" of running rich and end up in the high rpms sounding good.

According the the table they have there, the clip position that we changed to dump more gas into the quad mid-range should need to come up (1-2 spots) to keep it from being so rich in the mid range. Does that sound right? Maybe I can get away with out re-jeting the carb again! =)

Default Carb tuning in a post snorkle world

Well, I took it to the local ATV GURU and he gave me a handfull of jets for free!!! =)

I stepped up 1 at a time until I got to a 122 main jet (the biggest I have) and I'm going to test it out tonight with a new plug. I'll bet I'm still a little on the lean side.
I believe I need a bigger pilot jet also. I'm going to take him back the jets he gave me and get a couple bigger mains and a couple bigger pilots.

My 1.5" snorkle actually opened up airflow, instead of reducing it as I thought!!! =)

One happy smurf here!

I can't wait to get the sprocket in. I'll bet I could go with a 48, instead of a 50 tooth. =)

EDIT: I tried the 122 and it is *STILL* too lean. I have 124-138 now and I'm going to try those and see if I get it right. I never thought that it would have this much of an effect. Hopefully I won't have to go over 138 to get it right so I don't have to bother the ATV guru again. He let me raid his jet box twice today and said that if they don't work, come get more! I hope I don't have to go too big, because this is going to eat into my fuel economy. I hope all the extra power isn't going to eat my engine extremely fast. I mean, I wouldn't mind buying a rebuild kit in a year or two, but I don't want to kill it this summer. haha
