Default JM 125 charging system?

My jetmoto 125 charging system does not seem to be right. When it is idling the voltage at the battery is 12.6v, when the headlights are on the voltage drops to 11.4v. After running it with the headlight on for awhile it will not restart. I have put a new battery in it and repaired a broken wire at the voltage regulator. Any ideas would be helpful.

not sure but I bet you'll have less problems if you replace with a aftermarket battery, I haven't done it yet but it seems to help others.

I am having the same problem myself 89stp. I thought mine was the battery so I swapped it with my 150's battery. After a hour of riding, the 150 starts and the 125 doesnt. I was going to look at mine this weekend and will let you know what I figure out.

I have replaced the battery, it has an Energizer in it now. I am going to try to look at mine this weekend also. I will let you know if I find anything.

Hopefully between the 2 of us we can figure this out. Thanks for the info in the pm, I have not looked at anything on mine yet. I was going to start by making sure everything was connected tight and that the ground(s) are good.

I forgot to bring my tools home to test mine, but I think that I will still replace rest of the connectors on the voltage regulator and check connections and grounds. With out testing much I am leaning to a bad voltage regulator.
